Privacy policy
The short version: your scores never leave your device, Google Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them, and we use no advertising trackers. Some links to Amazon are affiliate links.
Last updated: October 2026.
Who we are
Score the Board (scoretheboard.com) is run from the United Kingdom by Influx Digital Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 09576967). For this policy, Influx Digital Ltd is the data controller. For privacy requests, email hello@scoretheboard.com.
Your game data
The site saves the following in your browser's local storage:
- player names and scores,
- your recent past games,
- your timer setting,
- your printable sheet options.
This lets the game survive a page refresh or closing the tab. That data:
- stays on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else,
- is used only to provide the features you are using, so it does not need your consent under UK law,
- can be removed at any time by deleting past games or clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel's servers receive your IP address and request details when you visit. They use these to deliver the page and to protect the site from attacks, and keep them only for a limited time. Vercel processes this data on our behalf.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful, how people use the score keeper and which guides they read. It only sets cookies if you choose Accept in the cookie bar.
- If you accept: Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies (
_gaand_ga_KZ6WYKQPFN) that hold a random ID for up to 2 years, so returning visits can be counted. It records the pages you view, your approximate location (country and city, worked out from your IP address, which Google Analytics does not store), your device and browser type, and a few actions: clicking an Amazon link, adding a calculated score, finishing a game and reaching the end of a guide. It never records your scores, player names or anything you type. - If you reject, or before you choose: no analytics cookies are set. Google may still receive basic signals that a page was viewed, without cookies or anything stored on your device, so that visitor totals can be estimated.
- We keep Google Analytics data for 14 months. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, and we never use the data for advertising.
- We save your choice in your browser's local storage so the bar does not reappear on every page. You can change it at any time with Cookie settings at the foot of every page, or by clearing this site's data in your browser.
We don't show adverts from ad networks. If that changes, we will update this page first and ask for your consent before any advertising cookies are used.
Amazon affiliate links
Score the Board is a member of the Amazon Associates Programme. Some links to products on Amazon.co.uk (on the UK pages) and Amazon.com (on the US pages) are affiliate links: if you buy something after clicking one, we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you.
- Clicking an affiliate link takes you to the matching Amazon store. We send Amazon nothing about you. If you accepted analytics cookies, Google Analytics records that the click happened and which product it was.
- Amazon uses its own cookies on its own site to record that you arrived from us. This is covered by Amazon's Cookies Notice and Privacy Notice for Amazon.co.uk, and its Cookies Notice and Privacy Notice for Amazon.com.
- On some pages, product cards appear in one of two layouts, chosen at random on each visit. Nothing is saved on your device to do this.
Our legal basis
- Game data: strictly necessary to provide the features you asked for.
- Hosting logs: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working site.
- Analytics: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with Cookie settings.
International transfers
Vercel and Google may process data in the United States and other countries. Both rely on recognised safeguards for these transfers, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can:
- ask to see the personal data we hold about you,
- ask us to correct or delete it,
- object to how we use it.
- withdraw your consent to analytics at any time, using Cookie settings at the foot of any page.
Email hello@scoretheboard.com to do any of these. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
The site is suitable for all ages but is not aimed at children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
